HOMAG Group AG

The company HOMAG from Schopfloch in Baden-Württemberg is an international manufacturer of woodworking machinery. It specialises in processing and gluing veneer onto material panels. HOMAG has developed a number of innovative products for the complicated gluing of corners and round materials. The company has a patent in this field and is the most innovative world leader in the market for edge banding machines.

The History of HOMAG

The company HOMAG was founded at the beginning of 1960 by Eugen Hornberger and Gerhard Schuler. After their two year development phase, the company introduced the first edge banding machine that operated with a hot and cold process. They immediately reached great success. In 1987 HOMAG changed its name to "HOMAG Maschinenbau AG" from "Hornberger Maschinenbaugesellschaft OHG". After merging with the IMA Group, the company was first called "Lignum Technologie AG" and then in 2004 that was changed back to "HOMAG Group AG". Since then, the company has been listed in the stock exchange.
