SCHIESS GmbH

The German company SCHIESS GmbH has been active in the machine construction sector for 150 years. It produces very large machine tools and specialises in vertical and horizontal boring mills.

The History of SCHIESS

SCHIESS was founded in 1866 and at first it was dedicated to reparation work, and then to the production of individual machine components and devices. Machines were first produced for both national and international markets in 1870. The company became a significant supplier to the German shipbuilding industry at the beginning of the 20th century.

Products by SCHIESS

Between SCHIESS and ASCHERSLEBEN, the machine ranges are basically subdivided into new and used machines. The “HORIMASTER”, “VERTIMASTER 1” and “VERTIMASTER 2-12” models are available in the SCHIESS series. The ASCHERSLEBEN series offers the “ASCAMILL” and “ASCATURN” product ranges. These are medium-sized machining centres, which can be cheaply produced but still retain high-end, German technology. Another branch of the company is dedicated to contract manufacturing for the industry. Additionally, the modernisation, reconstruction and service of used machines from various manufacturers are other services offered. This allows existing machine technology to be adapted to new production tasks. The primary activity of the company is to establish high-precision machining solutions for very large components. Furthermore, large vertical machining centres are ideal to economically process suitable components in the area of turning, milling and drilling. The multi-axis vertical boring and turning mill are used in heavy-duty industry. SCHIESS GmbH's machines are also available as used machines. This means that they are an affordable investment for any upcoming production tasks.

The Company in Numbers

In 2011 2011 SCHIESS GmbH releases the line “Maschinen-Aschersleben” to cover the demand for medium sized products. The SHENYANG group, with a turnover of 2.782,7 million USD in 2011 and more tan 18,000 employees is considered the biggest producer of industrial machinery in the world.
