Description
Beautiful original Race tricycle in working condition.
Very rare French Phébus tricycle Spécial De Course from 1898.
The company Noé Boyer & Cie from Suresnes in France belonged to the Société Gladiator and in 1898 started in 1898 with the production of cars, tricycles and quadricycles under the brand name Phébus. Production ended in 1903. In England, the brand name was Automobilette.
At the end of 1800 and early 1900, cars and motorcycles became very popular with the wealthier population. Especially the tricycles (3-wheelers) and quadricycles (4-wheelers) were very popular. Many competitions were organized up to 1500km away.
This tricycle has the special front brake for racing and has the big sprocket in the front to make speed. As a result, there is a special attachment of the surface carburetor that is mounted higher. The engine is a Dion de Bouton. Fully checked and in working condition on a more modern carburettor. The surface carburettor is complete and original but still needs to be checked.
