Description
This Bristol Lodekka FS double-decker bus from 1964, a classic British vehicle with a lot of character and potential for repurposing or restoration. The bodywork and paint are generally in good condition, although dents, scratches and damage are visible in various places. Some body parts may require repair or replacement and repainting. The left front fender is missing. The interior is in good condition and has remained largely intact, making this bus an attractive starting point for further restoration or conversion. The bus is currently not equipped with a valid inspection, as no engine has been fitted. The gearbox, gear shifter, 2 master cylinders and engine are also missing. The front side, radiator and bonnet are present in the bus and can be replaced relatively easily to restore the original appearance. History The Bristol Lodekka was introduced by Bristol Commercial Vehicles in the late 1940s and became a well-known double-decker bus in British public transport. The model was known for its relatively low overall height compared to many other double-deckers, which also made it suitable for routes with low bridges. In addition, the Lodekka was known for its solid chassis construction and reliable diesel engines, often from Gardner. Many of them served for years before being preserved by collectors, museums, and enthusiasts. Today, surviving Lodekka buses are prized for their historical significance, distinctive British design and the many possibilities for reuse.
