Description
The GED Intercept line is fully integrated and includes the production of Intercept spacer bars directly from coil and the assembly of insulating glass units.
Production capacity:
1,200–2,880 complete IGUs per 8-hour shift.
Typically 150 IGUs/hour (for standard sizes, e.g., 24" x 36").
Line type: Horizontal, automated production of Intercept spacer bars + glass washing + assembly + sealing + pressing.
Main components of a typical line:
1. Intercept spacer bar machine
(Intercept Ultra, 2.5, or I-3) - with automatic coil feed, U-shape forming, notching, gas-powered punching, and corner crimping.
2. Glass washer - stainless steel, low profile, air knife drying. 3. Sealant application station — precise dispensing of butyl/hot-melt and desiccant.
4. ATLAS assembly system — for dual/triple IGUs, with sequential assembly capability.
5. IG Oven & Roll Press — infrared with intelligent control, ceramic rollers.
Dimensions and production parameters:
Maximum frame length: approx. 28.5 ft (approx. 8.7 m),
Min./max. glass size: from small (e.g., 6" × 6") to large (e.g., 72" × 100").
Spacer width: 7/32"–7/8" (approx. 5.5–22 mm).
Speed: 1–8 frames/min (for standard 24" × 36").
The photos show the line before disassembly and its current state in storage. The photos also include a layout sketch to help you understand how much space the entire line will require.
