DECKEL MAHO DMU 70 CNC Universal Machining Centers

The machine is overall in a used, but functional condition. It was regularly used and maintained in multi-shift operation. All main functions such as spindle, final drives, tool changer and control are intact. The machine is still in productive use, but will be retired as part of a restructuring.

Mechanical condition:
• The spindle runs smoothly and without increased running noise.
• The tool changer works reliably and without malfunctions.
• The guides and drives show normal wear according to age, but without functional failure.
• Note: The rotary table shows sagging of approx. 0.10–0.15 mm in the Y direction. This offset is measurable, but can still be well compensated for with a suitable machining strategy (e.g. clamping on flat surfaces, compensation above zero points).

Electrical/control condition:
• Heidenhain iTNC 530 control system runs stably
• Screen, keypad, controls and emergency stop are in good condition
• No known errors in memory or diagnostics

Optical Condition:
• Usual signs of wear on the trim and interior
• Viewing window with a slight matt finish, but functional
• Machine has been cleaned regularly and maintained
inside
Application example (practical relevance):

The machine was most recently used to machine complex aluminum housings and 3D milled parts for prototyping and fixtures. Thanks to its 5-axis simultaneous capability, it is ideal for machining of:
• Freeform surfaces
• Multi-sided clamping (5-sided machining)
• Drilling patterns in inclined positions
• Mold inserts for toolmaking

Even if there is a table deviation, the machine can still be used economically with medium accuracy requirements (<0.05 mm).

This machine is ideal for companies that want to get started with 5-axis technology on a budget-conscious basis or expand their capacities in fixture and mold making – with a realistic view of age-related tolerances, but solid basic substance.
