Design and features
Engine
• Single-cylinder gasoline engine, air-cooled
• Mechanical carburetor, classic cold start lever
• Fuel tank arranged at the top, round, sheet metal, with large tank cap
• Fan wheel visible
from the side • Electric starter via 12 V battery (battery mounted on the device)
Generator
• Synchronous generator
driven directly by the motor • Power typically 2 kVA or 3 kVA
• Voltage type: usually 230 V / 50 Hz, some models additionally 24 V DC (e.g. for radios)
Control panel
• Large analogue measuring instrument for current/voltage indication
