STIEFELMAYER Coordinate measuring machine 1-fold, STM-B-MINI

The system is a manually operated coordinate measuring machine of the type STM-B-MINI from the German manufacturer Stiefelmayer. This measuring machine is designed for high-precision three-dimensional measurements and is used in particular for the inspection of large-format workpieces in industrial quality assurance. It is particularly suitable for applications in mechanical engineering, aerospace technology and the automotive supply industry, where robust and precise measurement technology is required.

The machine has three measuring axes (X, Y and Z) that are manually guided. All axes are air-bearing, which enables almost smooth and backlash-free movement. The system is operated by hand, so the system is not CNC-controlled. This allows for a very flexible application, especially for single pieces or small series, where quick setup is necessary.

A product from the manufacturer Renishaw is used as the measuring head. It is a tactile probing system, which is expected to be of the TP20 or TP200 type. The probe can be manually swivelled and aligned. The machine is intended for classic tactile measuring methods with a stylus ball.

The measuring surface consists of a large-format granite body, which is particularly stable and temperature-resistant. Grid and fixing devices for workpieces as well as a central coordinate system are integrated on it. The actual measurement uncertainty is less than 5 micrometers, depending on the operating conditions.

The aircraft was last calibrated on 07.05.2018. The calibration was carried out in accordance with the VDI/VDE 2617 and ISO 10360 standards by CMM-Service GmbH. The production number indicated on the machine is 561804941.
